Hat Yai municipal park

Hat Yai Municipal Park สวนสาธารณะเทศบาลนครหาดใหญ่

6 km north-east of Hat Yai railway station. Stretches along, and main entrance is on Kanchanavanit Road ถนนกาญจนวนิช = hwy 407. Easily accessible by songtheos line 4, 5, 6, 1871 (to Songkhla), 10 Baht.

Is home to Hat Yai Ice Dome (separate post), Brahma statue (missed it, and the Erawan statue near it), cable car (connects two peaks), Standing Buddha and Guan Im statue.

These places are spread over the hill, I walked about one hour, but there is shuttle near the park entrance.

Official website (Thai): http://www.hatyaipark.com/frontpage, but better read here in English: http://keehuachee.blogspot.com/2012/08/hatyais-holy-hill.html

Observatory:

Some weird buildings and playground behind the observatory:

Standing Buddha statue (20 m tall, the tallest in southern Thailand):

Cable car station (leading from Standing Buddha to Brahma):

Good view over Hat Yai:

Stairway leads down to Guan Im statue:

The statue is made of white Jade, I didn't know that there is white Jade, only knew green:
