How to take off shirts

How to take off shirts

I used to take off my shirts by grabbing the fabric at the shoulders or collar with both hands and then pulling the shirt up. That works well when the shirt is dry, but when I'm out in SEAsia and the shirt is sweaty wet, it sticks to my skin and is difficult to take off this way.

Recently by chance, I saw a different way to take off shirts (that works when wet): crossing your arms in front of you abdomen, grabbing the hem at left side with your right hand and hem at right side with your left hand, then pulling your arms up and un-crossing in the process. Works with one hand as well, the crucial point is pulling from the hem. This inverts the shirt, but much less work to flip it around later than struggling with shirt wet from sweat clinging to my skin when pulling from collar.

I have been taking my sweaty shirts off the wrong way all my life!

Here various videos of boys taking off their shirt in various ways, to illustrate above descriptions.

  1. It might be a regional thing. I have always taken off shirts using the hemline cross arm grab you describe. I grew up in a hot climate so it was more often than not pretty sweaty, so peeling it off was the preferred method.

  2. Who would think there's whole science about removing shirts , one lives and learns. Clips are nice , particularly third one

  3. The second one is surprisingly nice.

  4. Despite showering at least daily, I have noticed that:
1 Close fitting jeans slide on much easier before a shower than after it
2 Earbuds stay in place in the ears much better if cleaning the ears and the earbuds before inserting.

I presume it's the layer of oil on the skin that makes the difference.
I only figured #2 out after giving #1 some thought.
