The headline refers to the one particular case described below, not to my general activities!

MachoX sauna in Pinklao, details were posted there:

One boy looks cute and has nice underwear and warm and dry skin (touch several times in labyrinth, he does not reciprocate). He doesn't seem interested, so I give up. But then see him in the shower: big dick. One last attempt. Follow him to rooftop where he smokes. Chat him and up and exchange Line. Will meet some time.

Friday 26.02.2016
Dinner with Pun (boy from MachoX sauna) and his friends (from his workplace, and his boss ?) at Major Ratchayothin 22:05-00:35. There was PDA (public display of affection, initiated by him, short of kissing). There was an awkward moment when the bill arrived (about 2250 Baht) and it was not clear who will pay. The bill was between us two on the table, I put a 1000 Baht note on it, he took the note and paid by card.

Upon leaving, it was not “do you want to go to your room or my room?”, but “I go to my room and you go to your room”. However I didn’t go to my room, I walked to nearby Cruising sauna.

All our conversation with my translations below.

It seems he will happily meet me somewhere for dinner (place and time of his choice and I pay for everything), but he doesn’t want to come to my room (I didn’t mention sex, I think it’s obvious). I think after spending 3 hours and 1000 Baht for one dinner it’s time to get something in return.

In 2013 I had a boy from grindr, we had sex on first encounter and I was hoping for a repeat. However it took five lunches or dinners together, some with friends, until I realized that he is not interested in sex, he is just looking for someone who pays the bill. (Estimated five times 500 Baht and 3 hours spent, I don’t want to repeat that.)

    Come on, you know the answer.
    There is a momentum, once that is passed it is just too much of an effort to get it going again.
    But I like to read your adventures, so for that reason: continue.

    When he said that his visit to your room won't be cheap, I'd have asked him point blank, how much? His reply would have told you more than all our guesses. If I had to guess though, he was sizing you up.

      Thank you very much, I didn't know this! Asked a Thai and a Farang friend who confirmed. In this context, ถูก is short for ถูกต้อง [to be] correct ; right and not [to be] cheap ; inexpensive. http://www.thai2english.com/dictionary/1319814.html

    I'll answer using an aviation analogy. A pilot faces the same options twice in every flight: on take off and on landing. Aborting a take off is done for numerous reasons (commonly failure to achieve ground speed required for rotation while there's still enough runway to stop). On landing, common reasons include traffic that hasn't cleared the runway or a "too high" approach. In any case, once a decision is made to reject a take off or landing, it's never changed.

    Now to your situation. Unlike the pilot, you have the luxury of being able to weigh the pros and cons leisurely before aborting further adventure--or, more accurately in this scenario, misadventure. I think you knew fairly early on how this was going to play out but you chose to continue because the prize seemed irresistible. We've all done this to some extent (myself included). In pursuit of the perfect mate, however, you seem to willingly ignore the warning signals and continue your approach. Fortunately you haven't crashed but you appear reluctant to learn from experience.

    ABORT!

    Be careful with เริม (found at 21:40)for "begin or commence" as a noun it has another meaning!!! Ive used and heard more frequently for this sentence เปิด or เริ่ม

    Would be one time only, price is 3000 as a present or a loan, plus cost of hotel room of considerable quality, plus a taxi fare rounded up to five hundred, possibly in both directions.

    And it won't be fun. He is not into you. If you had a fancy condo and were willing to spend money like it didn't matter his apparent opinion would change, but that is not you.

    BTW, reading this post I realized that "OK" just means ครับ :)
    For me, "OK" as an answer to my statements in Line sounds a bit bossy - as the second side (a Thai boy) allows me to do what I have stated. Now I understand it's just "ครับ" translated in English - so there is no this weird bossy flavor in it. Thanx!

    Last week, out of the blue, message from Pun.
    Pun: Where are you? I miss you.
    CPFC: I'm in my room. Just back to Bangkok.
    Pun: When can we meet?
    CPFC: I'm free now.
    Pun: I'm free, too. But I don't have money to go to see you.
    CPFC: Then we meet next occasion.
    Pun: Ok.
    I just had a friend visit me, and was tired from traveling, otherwise I would have invited Pun (offered taxi fare).

    I had a taxi driver who used "bpai mai took" - "I don't know the way" (from Ramkhamhaeng to Sathorn!), and upon me telling him I know the way, he replied he wouldn't know the way to come back.

    I saw Pun on gboysiam and completely lost interest based on shirtless pictures there (but watching him in the shower when we first met was arousing).

    But not all was lost! I have heard ไปไม่ถูก "I don't know how to go there" several times afterwards, and if translation hadn't been in a comment here, I would have been as puzzled as first time.

    I should take this as an intelligence test: ask the boy where exactly he is, tell him which (combination of) bus/MRT/BTS/ARL/BRT to take, and call me when he is at the bus or MRT, where I will pick him up. That would eliminate those who are too stupid to follow these simple instructions and those who insist I pay for taxi.
