WOP: Ibis hotel lunch buffet
Update: the lunch buffet was discontinued from 1jan2020. Instead long breakfast buffet.
I have eaten at the Ibis Sathorn hotel lunch buffet (every day 12-14:30, 229 THB) with friends many times, and always liked the food. Update 2feb2019: 250 THB
There is a variety of Thai and Western food, most notably pizza and at least one noodle dish (changing from day to day), fruit, cakes, ice cream (two tastes, changing from day to day), soups.

thank you for a lead, good value for money for hungry types
ReplyDeleteMust be many plates there not fully cleared for you to eat.
ReplyDeleteI am a bit surprised and disappointed about this post as Christian normally shows us the more unseen parts of Thailand. A buffet in a chain hotel? Come on Christian show us some delicious street food or other off the beaten track places.
ReplyDeleteOr tell us at least how much you ate at this all you can eat buffet..... (maybe pictures before and after of the buffet?)
Fact that Christian doesn't like to fast food and is clearing his plate doesn't mean he devours everything in sight.
DeleteI had a pleasure of dining with him few times and find him guy with modest appetite.
But you are right , buffet in chain hotel is very not Christian-like but we all have our weak spots and moments
Ibis is a fine hotel chain. I use them a lot in Europe, but in Thailand there are cheaper hotels offering a decent standard.
ReplyDeleteThe buffet does not look that appetising. Also, if about 3 of us showed up, I suspect we could eat all the food on display.

The pictures show just a selection of the buffet. It's constantly replenished.
DeleteNo post about buffet should go without this video:

I found it interesting. I have never eaten there, though often am in Malaysia 24 hour restaurant across the road.
ReplyDeleteI have recently been to Ibis breakfast buffet first time since Covid. Due to lower number of customers, their choice of dishes is much reduced (150 THB + 10% service charge (for a buffet!) + 7% VAT). No more brunch/lunch buffet. I can’t recommend it any more.
ReplyDeleteInstead, I often go to Sizzler salad bar for 139 THB. The name sounds very bland, but they have pasta, various soups and sauces, fruit, dessert and I get a full meal out of it every time I go.
