Afternoon in Chiang Rai

Having seen the Black House, I had an afternoon to stroll through Chiang Rai with nothing particular in mind, before taking the overnight bus back to Bangkok.

Wat Phra Kaeow (which used to house the Emerald Buddha, now in Bangkok; but recently got a copy that is 1 mm smaller than the original):
There is a museum with free entry on the temple grounds:

There is a large mosque in Chiang Rai:

During my stay in Chiang Rai, there was construction work on sidewalks in several places, watch your step:
