Some lesser known markets in Bangkok (1)

Some lesser known markets in Bangkok (1)

and DVD price comparison. Silom street market 60 Baht per disc, or two for 100.

Saphan Phut market ตลาดสะพานพุทธ near Saphan Phut bridge and pier. Every day except Wednesday. Evening till late. Clothes and other stuff. Great for people watching. Easily accessible by bus (line 8 ends there, line 4 passes but you have to get off a few hundred meters before as it goes over the bridge).

Klong San market ศูนย์อาหารและเสื้อผ้าท่าน้ำคลองสาน in Klong San Plaza across the river from River City, with ferry pier with connection to Sri Phraya. Closes around 9 pm. Stretches from Charoennakorn Road to river. Mainly clothes, but I found macarons for 17 Baht per piece there. DVDs 40 Baht or 3 for 100.

Millenium Hilton on the same side of the river (west bank), Royal Orchid Sheraton (red light) on the other side.

Tha Din Daeng market ตลาดท่าดินแดง (don't confuse with Din Daeng intersection, far apart). A friend told me Klong Lot market ตลาดคลองหลอด moved there, which I could confirm by internet http://www.ทําเลขายของ.com/?p=12102 and by going there. Pretty new (started in July 2014, plenty of empty retail space),

I bought 5 straight porn DVD for 100 Baht, didn't see gay porn. (A friend of mine is mobility challenged, so he asked me to bring him some straight and gay porn, I didn't buy and porn before.)

  1. OK, good hint. THis is exactly ame sign and seller as at old Klong Lot/Lawd. There were quite a few stalls also doing gay poh-same price 20/1 or 5, sometimes 6/100-but expect about 10-20% to not work. The more expensive-30,40 have the pictures on the disc (they call that mastertape). Some not very exciting gay Thai poh comes as CDs with the magazines, @ Klong Lot it seemed there was new fresh supply every 3-4 weeks. Had some good copies from Belami there.

  2. Sapan PHut market is widely known as southern Thai mafia. It is right beside flower market and a brand new river walk-Yod Piman (nothing to get exited about). Bus 73 (AC) also ends there and serves the Nat Stadium BTS.
